Abstract

The rapid and rapid change in the information system has led to an increase in the spread of hoax news, reduced public trust in objective facts, and encouraged opinions based on emotions and personal beliefs, so that it causes difficulties in verifying the truth in information or known as the post-truth phenomenon. This research aims to find out the application of truth theory in dealing with the phenomenon of post-truth is important to understand how humans interpret a reality. The research method used is qualitative research with a library research approach. The result of this research is that in determining the truth of information in this post-truth era, it is by using a multi-dimensional validity concept, which combines several theories that the researcher considers relevant, namely the theory of correspondence truth, the theory of coherence truth, and the pragmatic theory of truth.
