Abstract

This study includes a comparative descriptive technique. This technique is done by comparing data from two or more sources presented in the form of descriptive text. The source of this study is the novel Roro Mendut by Y.B. Mangunwijaya and the novel Woman Who Cried to the Black Moon by Dian Purnomo. While the object to be studied is the values of struggle from Joyomartono's thoughts. The purpose of the study is to analyze each value of struggle and compare them. The approach in this study is comparative literature with reading and note-taking data collection techniques. The reviewer uses data cards, books, and pens in collecting the data. The results in this study show that the novel Roro Mendut contains struggle values such as the value of self-sacrifice, the value of unity, respect, patience and unyielding spirit, and the value of cooperation totaling 41 data.
