Abstract

Indonesia, as an archipelagic country, has a vast coastal region that holds significant economic potential. The marine tourism potential industry in Indonesia provides significant contributions to the regional and national economy. According to him, the maritime industry sector which includes tourism is a strategic sector in driving regional economic performance in East Java, Indonesia. This research paper examines the current state and future prospects of the maritime economy in Indonesia's coastal areas. The paper investigates the various sectors within the maritime economy, including tourism, fisheries, marine industry, and infrastructure development. Through an analysis of existing literature and empirical data, the study highlights the challenges and opportunities associated with leveraging the maritime economy for sustainable development in coastal regions.
